Chante Moore - Straight Up (3MBR Remix)

Another pop-dance track coming at you refreshed today, courtesy of 3MBR. If you check the original video from Chante Moore's Straight Up, it oozes that early 2000's dance feel. 3MBR's remix brings things into a more contemporary area, fitting into the deep/future house genre. Retaining the confident single lady lyrical content, the remix holds onto a throwback vibe while keeping it fresh with the heavy bassline drop.

3MBR has this up as a free download, so why not grab it for yourself? It's available from Hypeddit here.

Midnight City - Freak Me

Midnight City samples Silk's Freak Me Baby and reworks a chopped vocal to lay on top of the throwback dance vibe on the rest of the track.  The vocal is mostly left untouched for the intro aside from being pitched up slightly, before dropping into the chopped version of the vocals and the old school bassline buildup.  The vocal makes one more appearance for a later breakdown, but the meat of this track is really where the house percussion, old school bass and the edited vocal work together to give this a really cool contemporary house throwback vibe throughout. This is a feel good, summer-ready dance track, and uploaded as a free download.  Stream below and hop on this hot download.

Après - Chicago

Annie Mac dropped this on her Free Music Mondays series, so you know it's a great track.  Aprés makes use of the iconic house vocal "In the beginning there was Jack, and Jack had a groove..." with an extended intro into Chicago. If you have been around house music for any length of time, you're almost guaranteed to have heard this sample used in some way already.

Chicago starts on a slow build right from the start, using some mellowed background synths and percussion on the slow climb up to the main drop that hits at 1:56.  This is a future deep house track with a tasteful throwback flavour that embodies the culture of acceptance and positive vibes in the house music scene.

This is a free download courtesy of Annie Mac and Aprés, so grab it direct from the player below.

UnderHeadz - All Crew [IM224]

This one is a straight up proper underground warehouse rave roller if I have ever heard one. I'm putting this up top, as the style isn't for everyone - but it would also be a shame to pass over this based on preconceived notions of a scene.

With that out of the way, UnderHeadz brings the warehouse rave sound back with All Crew. The deep gritty throwback sound comes in from the start and continues throughout.  This was released back in October on Immoral Music 2, but feels like a time warp back into the 90's.  Hit play and take a trip back in time to a dark cavernous space.   If you're feeling this, pick it up from Beatport here.
