Dom Dolla & Go Freek - Define (Cassian Remix) [Sweat It Out! Music]

Dom Dolla & Go Freek brought out this massive tune earlier this week, with EDM.com premiering the original mix.  A couple days later, Cassian threw his remix up on his Soundcloud page. The original is a really nice blending of Dom Dolla and Go Freek's somewhat similar bass-house styles with a melodic kick and great lyrics. Cassian's remix takes things a little deeper, utilizing the vocals throughout, and applying a healthy dose of reverb. The first drop at the 1:50 mark gives a little taste of where he's going with this and starts to set the tone, with further percussion coming in with the vocals a bit later.  The breakdown and buildup later on culminates in an awesome hit of energy, bass, and vocals at 3:56. This is a huge tune that's going to be getting heavy rotation over the rest of the summer and well into the fall.

If you haven't heard the original from Dom Dolla and Go Freek, make sure to check it out here. The full EP will be coming out soon on Sweat It Out! Music.

Update: Club Mix and Remixes available here on Beatport, or you can get the single here on iTunes.

Froxic - Blend Modes [Plasmapool]

This is some of the most uplifting lower bpm electronic music I've heard in a long time, coming out of the Netherlands from Froxic. I had caught a glimpse of this track a little while back, and absolutely loved it - this is definitely my standout track from his upcoming Fade EP on Plasmapool. The synths and breakdowns are so melodic and just give an overall feel-good vibe to the entire track, all alongside the energy injection from the percussion elements.

If you're looking for something that goes hard the whole way through, you may want to look at some of the other tracks from the EP, but if you want a song that really has some progression throughout, Blend Modes is your track. The initial build doesn't even drop until 1:15 into the track, and only gives a taste before dropping into an extended breakdown and melodic buildup. When that second drop comes, you have an idea of what to expect, but it still hits really nicely. My first listen had me saying wow and going straight back for another listen, and I hope it has the same effect for any of you listening.

You can stream the other 3 tracks on from the Fade EP on Froxic's Soundcloud page, with the full EP due out on Monday May 25th on Plasmapool. Support the release and pick it up from Beatport.

Motez - Tryna Shake It [Sweat It Out]

Motez has been working on his forthcoming Vancouver EP that will be out May 19th on Sweat It Out, and has uploaded one of the tracks from the EP to his Soundcloud page - Tryna Shake It. It's been up for under a week, and has already had more that 90,000 plays.

A rather mellow intro eases up into things until the drop comes in with a hard and heavy non-compromising bassline. Motez then brings the bassline down slightly to allow the keys and synths to come back into play, mellowing things back out again with some vocal cuts slipped in here and there. This is one of the more interesting takes on the bass house/deep house genre I've heard in a while.  Motez is clearly exercising his ability to produce both a slow burning deep house track and a hard hitting bass track all within one, and it works so well.

Watch Sweat It Out Music and their Facebook page for this one dropping on May 29th. You can also check out some of Motez's previous work on his Soundcloud.

XO - Flames of a Phoenix

It's been a little while since we've seen new material coming from XO, but after hearing the sneak peek from his upcoming EP The Ethereal Experience coming out late July on He Loves You Not Recordings, it's been worth waiting for. The first track uploaded from the forthcoming EP is Flames of a Phoenix, which just oozes with indie dance and future R&B sounds, with vocals laid down by XO himself. It was premiered by The Beat Juice, and has already racked up over 8k plays in a day.

The EP is now available for pre-order on iTunes, which will also get you Somethin' About U right away ahead of the full release.

Sina. - It Was You

Three tracks not enough for Mellow Monday?  We thought not.  Sina. is an artist that I've been listening to for a while, but have yet to post on freshdrops.  That ends today. The Irish producer has started to tease a couple of the tracks from his upcoming free EP on Soundcloud, and It Was You is the latest he has uploaded in advance of that release. This is a really chill piece of work, and full of emotion - perfect for winding down Monday evening.  Just hit play and drift into the soundscape offered here for the next 4 minutes.  You'll be glad you did.  Then hit play again.

Watch for Sina.'s EP dropping soon for free, and in the meantime grab his remixes collection for free from his Bandcamp page - remixes of Passion Pit, Odesza, Kilimanjaro and more.
