Ekali & mossy. - Stay Hollow

Producers Ekali and mossy. team up to bring this brooding trap banger. The whole thing has a great mix of chill and evolving soundscapes, vocal chops, piano breakdowns. When the beat drops in, the whole thing has a slow jam groove to it that sells me on the whole thing. Check this out, and watch for mossy. dropping some new material soon.

Anfa Rose - Come Clean

I came across Anfa Rose back in December, with his track I'm Good, which is also a heater if you haven't heard it yet. Following up his last single In and Out and his last longer release She Been Waiting II is Come Clean. I would say clean beats and heartfelt bars characterize most of Anfa Rose's body of work, and this is no exception.

Shoutout to Palétte music's Youtube channel for uploading this:

Harrison Brome - 9 to 5

To be fair, I have to give it to Spotify's discover feature, it manages to dig up cool stuff that I've missed on a pretty consistent basis. This beauty from Harrison Brome is one such suggested track. 9 to 5 starts with a really mellow lead up with amazing vocal chops on display, and even without any drums, the vocals give you a feel good vibe. Then the beat drops in to spice up the groove.

Really nice chill afternoon summer jam, stream below!

Golf Clap & Sebb Junior - You Can't Hide

No strangers to this blog, eternal tastemakers Eton Messy have just released another solid free download from American Country Club Disco directors Golf Clap and tech house producer Sebb Junior

This is a chill tech house summer jam with really nice loungey pads and a really pleasant progression of accent keys.  All of this comes with the vocal "girl don't you know that you can't hide..." that filters in and out of the track wrapping it all together nicely. There is even a nice bassline that enters early, but remains understated throughout. Definitely going to be banging this one out in my summer sets and road trips, and why not?  It's free fiery goodness!

Really happy to have come across this today, as somehow I had missed Sebb Junior until today. No longer, make sure you check out his Soundcloud as there are a ton of recent heaters there and ready to go.

Loote - High Without Your Love (NAKID Remix)

Fresh New York duo Loote has come out with what I can only imagine will be a 2017 summer anthem. The original is fairly stripped back and reminds me very much of the Chainsmokers hit that seems to keep holding popularity, Closer. If the radio can get over the mild references to drug use, High Without Your Love is bound to follow in the same footsteps. At the same time, this is a call to love as opposed to a drug fuelled anthem, and the musical production follows in the same feel good path laid out by the lyrics.

The remix we're supporting comes from Swedish producer NAKID that turns up the energy slightly with additional percussion while still keeping the emotional feel of the original. The result is a danceable romantic ode to a significant other.  Give it a listen and make sure to add it to your Spotify summer playlists.

Tabrill - Letters ft. Youth Allowance

We've got something a little different for you all today, a genre defying collaboration between two Brisbane based acts - future beats/trap/chill/electronic/general cool sounds producer Tabrill, and indie rock group Youth Allowance.

The idea came about as many strange yet great collaboration ideas come from - in an alcohol-influenced conversation at a party. Will from Youth Allowance approached Tabrill about doing a track together, and the two parties came together to create the hybrid, genre-defying (or maybe genre defining? yes?) Letters. A really nice mix of indie instrumentation and lyricism brought together with Tabrill's electronic production experience, and the outcome is better than anyone could have hoped.

Have a listen to the track below, and if you're feeling it, pick it up on iTunes or stream with your Spotify account. Make sure to follow both Tabrill and Youth Allowance on Soundcloud to keep up with their new material.  We are.

RÜFÜS - You Were Right

Australian group Rüfüs has come through with a really nice mix of deep house and pop lyrical content in the form of You Were Right, a great mellow crossover track.

The deep house sounds are made all the more melancholic through the lyrical content along with those ethereal high pitched stabs of whatever they are... If you streamed the track already, you know exactly the sound I'm talking about. If you haven't, you will.

If you're feeling You Were right, hit the shopping cart icon in the plater below to head to the iTunes music store and grab it for you collection.

JackLNDN - All I See

If you've been following freshdrops for any length of time, you will know that JackLNDN is no stranger to the blog, especially in Mellow Monday features.  His sound just fits so well into the vibe we go for on Mondays - chilled out, laid back sounds and feelings.

All I See once again hits that mark, with a nice mix of instrumentation and vocals, setting the tone for your mellow monday.  Just hit play and enjoy the laid back piano and house sounds... and hit the shopping cart icon in the player below to be taken to a page that lays out options to buy or stream the track on a number of major outlets.

.OCIN - Forever Ya

In much of the same stream as the other post from today, German producer .OCIN brings a chill trap/future beats vibe with Forever Ya.  This one is super fresh, as it was just published earlier today. This is a great track for ending your Monday on a laid back note - Forever Ya is introduced with a really nice laid back melody with a little bit of low end bass accompaniment before the percussion drops in. Even then, the whole track works together nicely to give the feel of a mellow slow jam. Again, pitched vocals make an appearance to give some lyrical interest.

.OCIN has uploaded this one as a free download, so make sure you hit that shopping cart in the embedded player below or click here and pick it up if you're feeling it.

cln. - Found

This came up on the stream last week, and we held out on posting it for a bit later.  cln. brings some serious vibes to Found, with interesting melodic key runs throughout backed by warm and wobbly pads. Pitched and chopped vocals just add to the variety in this one, all around a really cool and easy going track.

Found is the title track off of cln's new Found EP, which is available from iTunes here.  Make sure you head over and check out the rest of the EP, and grab it if you're feeling it.

John Bull & The Bandits - Going Under Cover (Flaurése Leis Remix) [Eton Messy Records Free Download]

Eton Messy is back, and presenting just another example of the great sound coming out of London, and another case of finding budding producers making quality tunes. According to their description, "Flaurése Leis has been quietly preparing several remixes along with plans for a debut EP", so keep an eye on this up-and coming producer for more work down the line.

With his remix of John Bull & The Bandits' Going Under Cover, Flaurése Leis brings a smooth and summery house feel to the indie rock original. Much of the main vocals remain, though there has also been a bit of creative vocal slicing and looping. The end result is a really nice laid back vocal house track for any of your summer activities, and on offer as a free download.

This is the 20th release in Eton Messy's Free Download series, so if you are just getting on board, make sure to check out the playlist linked for a ton of great free music.  While you're over at Soundcloud, make sure to follow Flaurése Leis as well, as there is more music coming from him likely in short order.

Urban Cone - Weekends (Feki Remix)

Feki has worked his production magic once again, this time on a remix of Urban Cone. This flip of the original indie song Weekends keeps much of the indie vibe while also adding the electronic/trap flare that Feki has been building recognition for. This is a feel good track perfect for your afternoon chill session or finishing up your workday, whether that is leading into or coming out of the weekend.

It doesn't look like there is a release of the Feki remix as of yet, so stream the heck out of it. If you want to pick up the original Weekends, it is out as part of Urban Cone's release Polaroid Memories, out on iTunes.

Jessie Ware - Cruel (Klaves Remix)

It's been a little while since we've featured a chill house track for Mellow Monday, but this remix of Jessie Ware by Klaves fits quite nicely. The vocals remain smooth and intact, with Jessie Ware once again showcasing her considerable talent in this area. If you haven't heard of Jessie Ware yet, her work can be heard in several bass heavy dance productions such as Disclosure's Confess To Me, and their hugely popular remix of her track Running, or SBTRKT's Right Thing To Do.

Klaves' take on Cruel maintains many of the same vibes as the original, but with a distinctly house oriented feel. The remix is a bit faster and uses more deep house instrumentation in the warm synth tones, but the overall sound is very similar - much like a transposition between styles as opposed to a large departure from the original.

It doesn't appear to be released anywhere for free or purchased download, so you'll have to settle for streaming for the time being at least.

Tep No - Karma, You Got Owned

Tep No dropped this juicy free download a little while back, but we just came across it. Karma, You Got Owned emanates summer vibes, and honestly any 2015 summer playlist that is lacking this track is simply incomplete. The combination of really loungey, chilled back and house-y percussion and the classical guitar licks create a perfect backdrop to feature the smooth vocal stylings that are introduced later in the track.  If there was a recipe to be written for an infectious summer jam, Tep No wrote it with this one.

Head to Tep No's Soundcloud page for the free download, and check out some of their other material while you're there, as a lot of it is up for free downloads as well.

Patrick Baker - I Lost You

Nashville-based producer and vocalist Patrick Baker uploaded this little free download over the weekend, and I've been loving it.  It's a little darker than our typical Mellow Monday post, but it was too good not to share. I Lost You is really different from anything I've heard recently - dark and brooding synths paired with a deep kick and reminiscent love-lost lyrics all come together to make this track something special.

Have a listen for yourself and see what you think.  It's available for download directly though the player below.

Le Youth - TOUCH (JackLNDN Remix)

If this tune sounds a little bit familiar, you're right - we posted about the original by Le Youth back in January. JackLNDN has put his laid back house spin on the original with a remix as a free download that was premiered by Nest HQ. While Le Youth's original was a house heater perfect for warming up dancefloors in the late winter months, JackLNDN's remix has come at just the right time - his chilled vibes fit nicely with the summer sunshine. With Nu Disco influenced basslines along with his signature house style, this is the perfect track for sunny afternoon lounging or getting things started on a lounge patio as the sun sets.

This remix, as with much of JackLNDN's material, is available as a free download. Grab it for your summer sets, playlists or road trip jams while it's fresh.

Mellow Monday Material - Koala and CATMAGIC

I came across CATMAGIC on my Soundcloud stream a little while back, and through a little bit of profile exploration, also came across Koala - which I believe are two pseudonyms for the same producer. His material really embodies a very laid back chill vibe, which is exactly the type of music we try to post for Mellow Mondays. The tracks here have kind of a chill trap vibe, but they're all so soothing that it's hard to actually classify them as such. Have a listen below and see for yourself.

All of these tracks are available for free download as well, so hit the download button in the embedded players on any that you feel like adding to your collection - it's really that simple! Also make sure to check out both Koala's Soundcloud and CATMAGIC's Soundcloud for more material, and give them a follow to keep up to date on new releases.

ALOKA x Mulkern - Feel

ALOKA and Mulkern put this ultra chill collaboration out a couple months ago, and I was lucky enough to stumble across it the other day. The intro starts out with some really warm chords and ambient sounds, and slowly but surely builds into some energy through the introduction of a kick, and later some additional piano chords. By the time the vocal comes in, the track is riding high without there having been any real obvious drops - simply an easing up into the groove.

Feel has a lot of deep house and garage elements integrated, but keeps a much more chilled vibe throughout. The progression and transitions through the various sections of the track are extremely smooth and enjoyable, with each change simply melting into the next.

This is a true Mellow Monday track, and it's up for a free download.  Hit the shopping cart below to grab the mp3.

Spazzkid - Promise (Suken Remix)

Spazzkid released the Promise EP a while back in the summer of 2014, an album with an indie dance feel to it.  The title track Promise also feels like it has some indie rock influence to it.

French producer Suken has just recently put his own spin on the title track that feels very much like chill glitch hop/trap/electro.  The remix is a drastic departure from the original while still keeping many of the lyrics, and also maintaining a real summer vibe. The cherry on top is that it's uploaded as a free download.

If you like this remix from Suken, make sure to check his other material on his soundcloud page - much of it is in the same genre niche as this remix, and also up for free download.

Rihanna - BBHMM (FAB & Alo Lee Cover)

Pop fans rejoice, we're posting another version of a top 40 track today. Rihanna's Bitch Better Have My Money has been covered and remixed in a collaboration between French producer FAB and vocalist Alo Lee. Though the lyrical content remains very much in tact, Alo Lee puts her spin on them and makes the demands for payment with sweet and smooth delivery. The backing track sends this cover/remix in another direction from the original, with mellow sustained synths, a subtle but effective bassline and assorted broken beat percussion.

This version is an understated but very enjoyable take on Rihanna's hit, and FAB has uploaded it as a free download.  Grab this and while you're at it, check out the other quality remixes Fab has done - almost everything on FAB's Soundcloud is up as free downloads.
